Here’s the latest from Gerald and Louise:
Hi everyone,
Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet, life here is probably quite like there, just ticking along but not really normal! When we go out we have to wear masks and be socially distant. We can’t attend church as under 11s are not allowed. Cases are still being reported along with a continued small number of deaths related to Covid. So we try to stay at home as much as possible though Gerald goes to work at the office during the week.
We are expecting the new baby to come by caesarean on 3rd September and Louise should be in hospital Wednesday – Sunday. The hospital is only 5 minutes from our home and doesn’t deal with any Covid related cases, they have certain designated hospitals for that at the minute.
The twins are doing well, they are very energetic and it’s lovely to see their understanding develop. Their favourite word to hear is ‘shoes’ and they rush immediately to where the shoes stay as they know that means they are going out, even if just to the car park and grassy area in our compound for a run around.
Gerald’s sister is working part time because of Covid, she lives nearby and two of our nieces are 11 and 14 so a wonderful age for helping out with the twins (and schools won’t return here until Jan). We also have a lady we employ called Catherine who does housework and looks after the twins when Louise is working so during the weekdays we do have more hands than just ourselves.
We have acquired a slow cooker! We are hoping it will help simplify some of the cooking. If you have a recipe you would like to share we’d love to see it 😊
Please see the prayer points below.
-
Please pray for TransformD staff as they write bible study materials for topics that would normally be taught from the front, for example baptism, money, relationships. Discussions are still ongoing about future plans and things are still being done online rather than in person. Gerald is in the process of creating a dedicated ‘studio’ for filming resources.
-
Please pray for the planned Caesarean section which is 3rd September, for the final stage of pregnancy and preparation.
-
Please pray for us in this season, Louise won’t be able to lift or work with the twins for several months and night times are likely to be very difficult for the two of us. The twins only have 3 teeth each so we still have a lot of teething ahead of us. Please pray that we will be a support for each other and enjoy this season despite the challenges and that we would depend on God for his strength and not on our own.
