Another new variant, named after another letter from the Greek Alphabet. Sometimes I wonder if they should have picked another alphabet with more letters since there are only 24 letters in the Greek Alphabet! I hope that will be more than enough, but sometimes you find yourself wondering…

But as I thought about this, I remembered Jesus’ wonderful words “I am the Alpha and the Omega” these two letters are the beginning and the end of the Greek Alphabet. What a comfort to know that whatever variants and letters are thrown at us, Jesus is the beginning and the end. He is before all things, He made all things, and He’s in control of the all things. There’s nothing that exists that He’s not in control over. And so while the variants may trouble us, we can cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us and is in control of all things. He is the beginning and the end.

So whenever you hear of omicron or any other variant, why not turn to the one who is the beginning and the end and ask for His help to trust Him and not be afraid.
