Prayer for the families of Kiea McCann and of Dlava Mohammed

Our loving heavenly Father, we are shocked and saddened this week by the sudden deaths of Kiea McCann and of Dlava Mohammed. On a night that should have been full of celebration and joy and hope for the future, tragedy has struck, and so we cry out to you for the family and friends grieving at this time. Please draw near to these poor families in their shock, grief, anger and despair. We thank-you that you are not a distant God, but that in your Son the Lord Jesus you have entered into our world and experienced loss and sadenss.  Lord Jesus, you were there at the funeral of the widow’s son from Nain, and you made a beeline for her in her suffering. You had compassion on her. Please look with compassion on the McCann and Mohammed families.  You know their broken hearts and shattered dreams and the days and nights of deep sorrow that are ahead.

God of all comfort, please give them your peace that passes understanding, and lead them to the rock that is higher than them, that they may find a secure place to grieve.  May they find hope in the Lord Jesus who is the resurrection and the life. May your Holy Spirit be their comforter.

We pray for the Largy College community also devasted by this loss.

Please help all as they grieve, among the fragility and the brokeness may they turn to you. We also pray for those for whom it brings back painful memories of their own losses and we pray for safety on the roads. In Jesus’ name, Amen
