I wonder what you think of the Christian faith? Sometimes we may think that it may suppress us or ruin our fun. I was struck reading Acts 14 this morning that when Paul and Barnabas are explaining the Christian faith they say “We bring you good news.”
Why is it good news?
Well, they continue to tell the people of Lystra that they should turn from vain things to a living God who made heaven and earth.
Far from suppressing them, the Christian faith will bring them life! The people were bound up by worshipping something that was not God, something that demanded much of them and gave them nothing. But now, Paul says, come to the living God. Come to the real God, the God who made everything. And because of Jesus you can know Him.
What good news for the start of 2024!
You can know the living God. May you walk with Him in the year ahead and find joy in going His way, for He is the living God.
