Dear despairing young person

I just want you to know that you are incredibly valuable. 

Please hear that again, you are incredibly valuable.  

I imagine sometimes you feel you’re not, sometimes you feel life is not worth living, sometimes it hurts so much that you think it’s not worth carrying on, but please listen again, you are incredibly valuable. 

How can I say that when I don’t even know you? 

It’s because of something that may have been kept hidden from you, something you don’t hear people talking about it too often.  What is it? You are precious because you are fearfully and wonderfully made.  You are not here by chance, maybe sometimes things feel meaningless, pointless, but what if there is a loving God who made you?  What if you are actually made in His image?  That means that you are incredibly valuable, whether you feel it or not.  No matter how you feel, no matter what is going on in life, no matter how hopeless it seems, there is hope, because you are fearfully and wonderfully made.  I’d love to tell you more, but I wonder if that’s a start? A glimmer of hope that you need, a light that you could share with someone else.
